Workflow architecture

Workflow architecture makes the movement of work visible. Operon maps the current process and designs clearer steps, decisions and handoffs so that the operation can be used, governed and improved over time.

When to consider this

Consider this service when work depends on informal knowledge, repeated manual handoffs or unclear ownership. Mapping the workflow can also establish whether a technology change is necessary.

What we work through

  • Workflow discovery

Follow a representative piece of work from its trigger to completion. Record what actually happens, including workarounds, waiting time and exceptions.

  • Process and system mapping

Connect each step to its inputs, outputs and supporting tools. Identify where information is copied, lost or interpreted differently by the next person.

  • Decision and ownership design

Make responsibility for decisions and handoffs explicit. Define who acts, who reviews, and how the workflow moves forward when something is incomplete.

  • Controls and measurement

Identify the checks and measures that belong inside the workflow. The structure should support practical review and improvement after it is put into use.
